Fred Archely Whaley: Nakina

1947 – 2023

     Fred Archely Whaley of Nakina died Thursday, July 20, in his home. He was 76.

     Born June 16, 1947 in Columbus County, he was the son of the late Herman Archely Whaley and Ruth Maples Whaley.

     He is survived by two daughters, Ashley Freeman of Nakina and Kristi Enderle of New York; three brothers, Donnie Whaley and Ben Whaley of Nakina, and Glen Whaley of Chadbourn; two sisters, Lorena Lein of Sevierville, Tennessee and Patricia Ridgeway of Bladenboro; and four grandchildren.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Jimmy Whaley, Eugene Whaley, and Sam Whaley; and a sister, Lola Whitt.

     Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, July 22, in Happy Home Baptist Church, Nakina, burial following in the church cemetery.

     Visitation was planned for the hour preceding services in the church.
