Fred Buck: Tabor City
1940 – 2023
Fred Buck of the Pireway Community, Tabor City, died Tuesday, Aug. 22, in McLeod Seacoast hospital, Little River. He was 83.
Born in Columbus County, he was the son of the late Guy Austin Buck and Georgia Lee Grice Buck.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Ann Grainger Buck of the home; one daughter, Sheila Powell (Darrell) of Tabor City; a son, Randy Buck (Tammy) of Tabor City; one brother, Carl Buck of Leland; six grandchildren, Kevin Powell, Stephanie Powell (Justin) Bucky Buck (Lindsey) Miranda Beck (Steven) Corey Buck (Amanda), Helen Buck; and nine great grandchildren, Austin Fisher, Randall Buck, Allyson Buck, Brynlee Buck, Keayln Beck, Sadie Beck, Dalton Beck, Liam Buck, Aubrie McPherson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Emma Lee Smith, Virginia Cox, Dorothy Chestnutt; and a brother, Guy Buck.
He was a member of Pireway Original Freewill Baptist Church.
Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, in Inman Ward Funeral Home.
Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 25, in Pireway Original Freewill Baptist Church, Tabor City, burial following in Jacobs Cemetery, Tabor City.
