Shelton Earl Causey

1945 – 2023

     Shelton Earl Causey of Loris passed away on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023, at McLeod Seacoast hospital. He was 78.

     Born Sept. 11, 1945, in Mullins, he was the son of the late Willie Lesley Causey, and the late Gladys Strickland Causey.

     Mr. Causey was a farmer, and worked with both Talon Industries and Pilliod Furniture throughout his life. He was a member of Pleasant Meadow Baptist Church and he loved his Sunday school class dearly. In his personal life, he was an avid hunter and outdoorsman and a proud supporter of Green Sea Floyds Athletics.

     Survivors include his two children, Timothy “Timmy” Earl Causey (Gail), and Leslie Causey Martin (Patrick); three grandchildren, Wesley Earl Causey (Calleen), Dylan Patrick Martin, and Landon Patrick Martin; and great-granddaughter Alston Tate Causey.

     In addition to his parents, Mr. Causey was predeceased by his wife, Sylvia Ann Causey; and two sisters, Bernell Lane and Christine Burgio.

     Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, at Pleasant Meadow Baptist Church with Pastor Scotty Enzor, Rev. Stephen Vipperman, and Rev. Rocky Gregory officiating. Committal services followed at Pleasant Meadow Cemetery.
