Billy Eugene Brown: Tabor City

1948 – 2023

     Billy Eugene Brown of Tabor City died Sunday, Oct. 29, in McLeod Loris hospital. He was 75.

     Born April 5, 1948 in Gastonia, he was the son of the late Will and Florence Brown.

     He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Brenda Faye Simmons Brown of the home; one daughter, Brenda Lynn Hedwin (Troy) of Tabor City; a son, Darrell Brown (Julie) of Tabor City; twelve grandchildren, Belinda Brown (Lance), Breanna Brown (David), Troy Hedwin Jr., Genia Hedwin, Xander Hedwin, Willie Brown, Jr., Kelsey Brown, Blade Eugene Brown, Bently Eugene Brown, Riley Adams, Aiden Thomas and Addison Thomas; two step grandchildren, Jaydn Hedwin, and Kaselynn Hedwin; three great grandchildren, Aliza Haney, Andrew Haney, and Aubreanna Hedwin; and two sisters, Mildred Huffster and Patsy Brown of Gastonia.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Eugene Brown; two grandsons, Bubba Brown, and Andrew Brown; four brothers, Tommy Brown, Ray Bailey, Johnny Brown, and Willie Brown; and three sisters, Dorothy Holmes, Sue Cribb, and Evelyn Nicholson.

     Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31, in Inman Ward Funeral Home.

     Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel, burial following in Myrtle Green Cemetery.
