Gracie Ammons Watts: Loris
1959 – 2023
Gracie Ammons Watts of Loris went on to be in the arms of Jesus, surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, Dec. 18. She was 64.
Born Sept. 29, 1959 in Loris, she was the daughter of the late George Ammons and the late Eloise Hewitt Ammons. She was a homemaker, devoted mother, loving wife, and a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include her three children, Teresa Strickland (Chris), Ashley Scott (Donovan), and Stevie Watts; seven grandchildren, Joshua Clardy, Madison Watts, Bentley Strickland, Addilyn Strickland, Javian Scott, Caroline Watts, and Shelby Watts; three siblings, Clyde Ammons, Betty Evans, and Jackie Ammons Mazariegos; lifelong friend, Teresa Clardy; and her dog, Lucky Star.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Vander “Doug” Strickland; and a sister, Georgia Causey.
Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 22, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Pastor Mack Hutson officiating, committal services following at Pleasant View Cemetery.
Family planned to receive friends during the hour preceding services in the church.
