Mezella Watts Soles: Tabor City

1932 – 2024

     Mezella “Zell” Watts Soles of Tabor City, also known as “Ladybug,” died Friday, Jan. 12, in her home. She was 91.

     Born in Horry County, she was the daughter of the late Luther M. Watts and Dollie Ann Fowler Watts. She was a member of Emmanuel Holiness Church, Tabor City.

     She is survived by two daughters, Emily Burbage and husband Joe of Washington Court House, Ohio, and Amy Piver and husband Brent of Tabor City; one daughter in law, Wynona Soles of Loris; eight grandchildren, Christina Miller (Travis), Bradley Burbage (Christa), Alisha Hendrix (Craig) Hannah Piver Whitman, Dakota Dean Piver (Chelsea), Ryan Soles, and Kyle Soles; and nine great grandchildren.

     She was preceded in death by her husband, Manley Soles Jr; two sons, Hiram Soles and Ashley Soles; seven brothers; and two sisters.

     Funeral services were planned for noon Friday, Jan. 19, in Emmanuel Holiness Church, burial following in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Tabor City.

     Visitation was planned for the hour preceding services in the church.
