Betty June Ward: Tabor City
1933 – 2024
Betty June Ward of Tabor City died Tuesday, Jan. 16, in MUSC Health Marion Medical Center, Mullins. She was 90.
Born in Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late Albert Dow Watts and Edith Docia Soles Watts.
She was a member of Tabor City Baptist Church where she loved to sing in the choir.
She is survived by two daughters, Vickie Ward Shelley (Thelton) of Nichols and Donna Lynn Ward (Reuben) of Green Sea; one brother, Ronald Watts of Tabor City; two sisters, Doris Grainger of Green Sea and Phyllis Althen of Mt. Pleasant; three grandchildren, Justin Shelley, Bart King (Rena), and Holley Sellers (Phillip); three great granddaughters, Jacquelyn Sellers, Madison Shelley, and Shelley Sellers; and three great-grandsons, Mason King, Knox King, and Banks King.
In addition to her parent’s, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Blease Ward; five brothers, Bill Watts, Ted Watts, Ned Watts, Don Watts and Dale Watts; and two sisters, Virginia Long and Peggy Currie.
Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19, in Inman Ward Funeral Home, Tabor City.
Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, in Tabor City Baptist Church, burial following in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Tabor City.
