Terry K. Blanton: Longs

1958 – 2024

     Terry K. Blanton of Longs passed away at home Jan. 23. He was 65.

     Terry was born on October 28, 1958 to the late Ken and Lois Blanton.

     Terry spent his early years in Virginia, where his father was employed with the Newport News Shipyard, the family moved back to South Carolina when he was in grade school.

     He attended Loris High School, participated in the SC National Guard and continued to work in the area and recently retired to the home.

     He was a father, grandfather and great-grandfather. As a youth Terry enjoyed 70’s rock music, classic cars and he also inherited a love of animals from his mother.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by both his paternal and maternal grandparents.

     He is survived by his two daughters both of Loris, SC, Rachael Watts and her husband Billy, Terri “Shon” Grainger and her husband, Stephen, of Loris; Rachael’s daughters, Erin Todd (Eddie), Morgan Todd, and Ashlyn Watts; Terri’s children, Hunter Harrelson (Christine), Christian Lane (Madilyn), and Madisen Grainger; great grandchildren; and his sister, Rita Blanton Melvin and her husband Michael Shane Melvin and children of Charlotte.

     A memorial visitation was planned for 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, at Hardwick Memorial Chapel.
