John D. Singletary: Tabor City

1946 – 2024

     John D. Singletary of Tabor City died Friday, March 1, in Lower Cape Fear Life Care, Whiteville. He was 77.

     Born November 28, 1946 in Columbus County, NC, he was the son of the late Leba Singletary and Gracie Mae Cox Singletary.

     He is survived by his wife, Theresa Hardee Singletary of the home; a daughter, Kayla Arjane Singletary of Tabor City; two sons, John Allen Singletary and wife Tabitha of Loris and Jason Davis Singletary of Longs; one sister, Bonnie Gayle Spivey of Tabor City; three grandchildren, Madelyn Frances Singletary, Jason Davis Singletary II (Ashley) and Victoria Dawn Singletary Mills (Kyle); and four great grandchildren.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Singletary Murray and Carolyn Dean McMillian.

     A graveside service was planned for 3 p.m. Monday, March 4, in the Dulah Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

     In lieu of flowers memorials may be to Gideon International P.O Box 97251 Washington DC 20090-7251 in honor of John.
