Dorothy Lee Bell Cox: Loris
1934 – 2024
Dorothy Lee Bell Cox of Loris passed away on Saturday, March 23, at her home surrounded by her loving daughters. She was 90.
Born Jan. 6, 1934, in Loris, she was the daughter of the late Willie Rufus Bell and the late Fancie Johnson Bell.
Mrs. Cox worked in the Horry County Schools cafeteria for 39 years, loved gardening and working with her flowers, and was a dedicated and active member of Princeville Baptist Church.
Survivors include her two daughters, Lisa Ann Cox Hardy (Isaac) and Sharon Ann Cox (Steve Gerald); and two sisters, Marie Martin Alford (Gene Alford) and Joyce Ann Huggins.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Carl William Cox; three brothers, W.T. Bell, Lester Bell, and “R.E.” Rufus Edgar Bell; and four sisters, Mildred Barnhill, Floree Hill, Vista Hardwick, and Manthie Lee Quillen.
Funeral services were planned for 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, at Princeville Baptist Church with Pastor Mitchell Barnhill officiating, committal services following at Princeville Cemetery.
Family planned to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, at Hardwick Funeral Home.
