James Cronin Pike, Jr.: Loris
1943 – 2024
James Cronin Pike, Jr. of Loris passed away on Monday, March 18. He was 80.
Mr. Pike was born Aug. 21, 1943, in West Palm Beach, Florida, the son of the late James Cronin Pike, Sr., and the late Sophia Clifton Pike Wall.
Mr. Pike served his country with courage, honor, and distinction as a Green Beret in the United States Army Special Forces during the Vietnam War. After his military service he started his own law firm, James C. Pike, PA, and worked as an attorney until his retirement.
Throughout his life Mr. Pike served his community faithfully, cofounding the Grand Strand Soccer League for boys and girls, he was a member of the N.M.B. Jaycees, he was the MC for the WNMB Heart Association fundraisers, and a board member for Synovus bank. In his personal life he was an avid sailor, and past president of the Long Bay Sailing Association, for which he won numerous trophies over the years.
Survivors include his loving wife, Lynn Pike; son James C. Pike, III, (Kim); his mother, Lana K. Pike; daughter-in-law Patty Senkow; two grandchildren, Colby Bane Pike and Cronin Fysher Pike; brother, John H. Pike, (Priscilla); a sister, Sophia McAllister; and sister-in-law Catherine Pike.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Pike was predeceased by one son, Herbert Jeffrey Pike; and two brothers, William T. Pike and Benjamin T. Greene.
Memorial services with military honors were planned for 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, at Hardwick Memorial Chapel with Rev. Ron Bogle officiating.
Family planned to receive friends during the hour preceding services at Hardwick Funeral Home.
