Martha Lucille Harrelson Jandt of Seguin, Texas, passed away on April 9. She was 94.
Martha was born Oct. 30, 1929, in Horry County, to Ruth (Graham) and Coy Harrelson.
Martha will be remembered as a lifelong teacher educating many children to their success. She enjoyed gardening and raising cattle. She was a member of the American Legion H U Wood Post 245 Auxiliary and the Seguin Sunset Lions Club.
Martha and Robert were members of Emanuel’s Lutheran Church for many years. She was the first Tabor City Yam Queen, having been crowned in 1947.
Martha was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Robert “Bob” Alvin Jandt, Maj., USAF (Ret.); her parents; her brother, Bruce Harrelson; a sister, Evelyn Harrelson Marsh; and her niece, Sherie Huot.
Survivors include daughter DeeDee Jandt Brite (Matt); step-children Becky Jandt Lake (Gene), Bill Jandt (Bylenda); grandchildren Ashlyn Jandt (John), Cody Jandt (Stacy), and Lane Springs; great-grandchildren Laramie Hernandez and Will Jandt; nephew John Harrelson; her beloved fur baby, Tyson; and other loving family members and many friends.
A funeral service was planned for 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 15, at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Jeremy Roy officiating. A private burial was planned at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
Visitation was planned for the 90-minutes preceding the service at the chapel.
