Glenn Lee Morris: Longs

1957 – 2024

     Glenn Lee Morris of Longs passed away on April 25, at his home after an illness. He was 66.

     Born Sept. 17, 1957 in Myrtle Beach, he was the son of the late Fred J. Morris and the late Bobbie Jean Boatwright Morris.

     Mr. Morris served his country with courage, honor, and distinction in the United States Navy. After his military service, he worked with Santee Cooper until his retirement.

     In his personal life, he had a passion for camping, fishing, and hunting. He will be dearly missed by the K.D.K.C. (camping club).

     Survivors include his loving wife of almost 28 years, Nancy Gause Morris; two sons, Dillon Lee Morris and his wife Abby, and Brent Gilbert and his wife Lindsey; a daughter Jamie Gilbert Watson and her husband Nick; six grandchildren, Madison and her fiancé, Reid, Kaylee, JP, Grace, Parker, and Macy; a brother Fred J. Morris, Jr. and his wife Betty; many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family; and three dogs he truly adored: Weezie, Maggie, and Molly.

     Graveside memorial services were planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, May 18, at Buck Creek Cemetery.

     In lieu of flowers, family requests that memorials be made to Buck Creek Cemetery Fund, 11483 Hwy 905 North, Longs, SC 29568.
