Norbit Carlyle: Ash

Norbit Carlyle of Ash died Thursday, May 2, in his home. He was 91.
Born April 29, 1933 in Scotland County, he was the son of the late Clarence Carlisle and Emma Turbeville Carlisle.
He was a Veteran of the United States Navy.
He is survived by his wife, Elfleta Ward Carlyle of the home; two sons, John Francis Carlyle (Charlotte) of Johns Creek, Georgia and Brian Keith Carlyle (Tabatha) of Jacksonville, Florida; one daughter, Kathleen Mills (Eldred) of Jacksonville, Florida; five brothers, Ashley Carlisle, Ray Carlisle, James Carlisle, and Truman Carlisle of Tabor City and Shelton Carlisle of Jacksonville, Florida; two sisters, Vickie Sue Hardee and Britty Ann Butler of Tabor City; four grandchildren, Corey Carlyle (Chelsea), Connor Carlyle, Cameron Carlyle (Cheyenne), and Joshua Carlyle; one great grandchild, Blake Carlyle; a step son, Greg Inman (Linda) of Ash; one step grandchild, Brandon Inman; and special friend Wilbur Babson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son; James Thomas Carlyle; four brothers, John Carlisle, Roy Carlisle, Alton Carlisle, and David Carlisle; and one sister, Libby Cartrette.
Funeral services were planned for 3 p.m. Monday, May 6, in New Britton Baptist Church, Ash, burial following in Sandy Plain Cemetery, Tabor City.
Visitation was planned for the hour preceding services in New Britton Baptist Church.
