Clyde “Shorty” Anderson: Tabor City

1951 – 2024

     Clyde “Shorty” Anderson of Tabor City passed away Tuesday, May 28, at his home. He was 72.

     He was born Dec. 3, 1951 in Horry County, the son of the late Clyde Anderson and the late Sarah Anderson.

     Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 37 years, Marcia Soles Anderson of the home; two sons, Clyde Steven Anderson (Stephanie) of Conway and Michael Anderson of Conway; a daughter, Angela Caton of Tabor City; seven grandchildren, Jacob Rabon (Kayla), Tanner Caton (Hollie), Brandon Anderson, Jacob Anderson, Davey Anderson, Justin Anderson, Reagan Anderson; two great granddaughters, Harleigh Kate Rabon and Breanna Todd; two sisters, Jackie A. Bell of Loris and Linda Gail Young (Larry) of Darlington; a brother, Billy Ray Anderson of Darlington; brother in law Michael Soles of Tabor City; special nephews Ed Bell and Mitchell Anderson; special friends Danny Tyler, Tommie Powell, and Brian Roberts; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, and close friends.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Patty Faye Anderson; a brother, Jerry Anderson; and a brother-in-law, Edward Bell.

     Graveside service were planned for 1 p.m. Friday, May 31, in the Oak Dale Baptist Church Cemetery, Loris.
