Lauretta Cox Smith: Tabor City

1945 – 2024

     Lauretta Cox Smith of Tabor City died Wednesday, June 12, in her home. She was 79.

     Born May 18, 1945, in Horry County, she was the daughter of the late John Davis (JD) Cox and Ruby Lee Russ Cox.

     She is survived by three sons, Ray Smith and Michael Smith of Tabor City and Steven Smith of Savannah, Georgia; two sisters, Irene Grainger of Conway and Janice Johnson of Loris; and five grandchildren;

     In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Leonard Cox and Ronnie Cox; and a sister, Gloria Williams.

     A Celebration of Life was planned for 3 p.m. Sunday, June 23, in New Life Baptist Church.

     Family planned to receive friends during the hour preceding services in the church.
