Wilma Ernestine Phillips: Green Sea

1945 – 2024

     Wilma Ernestine Phillips of Green Sea died Friday, June 14, in McLeod Seacoast hospital, Little River. She was 78.

     Born in Horry County, she was the daughter of the late Oscar Johnson and Toola Rabon Johnson and the widow of Samuel “Sammy” Phillips.

     She is survived by two daughters, Toni P. Elliott and husband Dean of Nichols and Nikki P. Strickland of Green Sea; two grandchildren, Meagan Elliott Dew and husband Brian and Trevor Strickland; and one great-grandchild, Jace “JJ” Dew.

     In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Alton Johnson and James Levon Johnson; and a sister, Erma Jean Fowler.

     Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 16, in Inman Ward Funeral Home.

     Graveside services were planned for 10 a.m. Monday, June 17, in the Floyds Freewill Baptist Cemetery, Three Bend Road, Nichols.
