Perry Devon Cox, Jr.: Clarendon

1945 – 2024

     Perry Devon Cox, Jr. of Clarendon died Tuesday, June 18, in McLeod Loris hospital, Loris. He was 78.

     Born Sept. 23, 1945, in Columbus County, he was the son of the late Perry Devon Cox, Sr., and Eva Williams Cox. He was a veteran of the United States Army and National Guard.

     Survivors include three children, Sheila Ann Kingsmore (Van) of Clarendon, Sherry Blosser (John) of Nakina, and Robbie Pate (Bobbie) of Conway; seven grandchildren, Kammy Devonna Rothfuss, Seth Logan Davis, Libby Blosser, Peyton Blosser, Christian Joseph Wilson, Haley Marie Wilson, and Matthew Elwood.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Strickland Cox; and two sisters, Shirley Cox Bullard and Doris Cox Wrenn.

     Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, June 22, in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel, burial following at Williamson Cemetery, Green Sea.

     Visitation was planned from 10 to 10:45 a.m., preceding services in the chapel.
