Phyllis Norreen Adkins: Clarendon

1944 – 2024

     Phyllis Norreen Adkins of Clarendon died Friday, Aug. 9, in McLeod Loris hospital. She was 80.

     Born in Charleston, she was the daughter of the late Seibert and Devera Lucille Faircloth Adkins.

     She is survived by one son, Michael Wayne Adkins and fiancée Betty Jean Chestnut of Clarendon; a daughter, Kimberly Hawley and husband Jim of Pottstown, Pennsylvania; four grandchildren, James Hawley, Breanna Hawley, Disiree Jones, Victoria Jones; and one great-grandchild, Colton Hawley.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Tammy Jones; two brothers, Darrell Adkins, Sr. and Michael Adkins; and one great grandchild, Hayden Hawley.

     Funeral services were planned for 3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel, burial following in Powell Cemetery on US 701 North, Clarendon.

     Visitation was planned for the hour preceding the service in the chapel.
