Melvin Douglas Grainger: Tabor City

1945 – 2024

     Melvin Douglas Grainger of Tabor City died Friday, Aug. 16, in McLeod Loris hospital. He was 79.

     He was the son of the late Homer John Grainger and Anastacia Dyson Grainger.

     He was a veteran of the U.S Army.

     He is survived by a nephew, Eric Prout (Mirenda) of Tabor City; a brother, Randy Grainger (Roxy) of Tabor City; and two sisters, Janice Hardee (Troy) of Loris and Sherry Butler of Tabor City.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Frances Carpenter, Tammy Johnson, Linda Russ.

     Graveside services were planned for 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, in Myrtle Green Cemetery, Tabor City.

     Visitation was planned for the hour preceding services in the cemetery.
