Virginia Causey Jacobs: Loris

1938 – 2024

     Virginia “Louise” Causey Jacobs of Loris passed away on Thursday, Aug. 22, at McLeod Loris hospital. She was 85.

     Born Dec. 6, 1938, in Loris, she was the daughter of the late Hal R. Causey and the late Leila Mae Watts Causey.

     Louise owned and operated Paul’s Seafood. She held other jobs at Marlene Plant and Grace Christian School. She was a longtime member of Grace Tabernacle Church in Loris and she was passionate about cooking for her family and friends. Louise was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to all who were blessed to have known her.

     Survivors include her daughter, Wanda J. Hucks; two grandchildren, Christopher Kelly Hucks (Leslie) and Samuel Brett Hucks (Alicia); seven great-grandchildren, Taylor Strickland, Ansley Hucks, Kurtis Hucks, Brody Hucks, Ryleigh Hucks, Charlie Hucks, and Nolan Hucks; special niece Linda Rheuark; cousins Ann Williams, Retha Cribb, David Earl Watts, David Vernon Watts; and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family.

     In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jacobs was predeceased by her loving husband, John Paul Jacobs; her son, John P. Jacobs, II; a brother, James Houston Causey; and a sister, Jewel Causey.

     Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, at Hardwick Memorial Chapel. Committal services were private.
