George Hubert Soles, Jr. of Tabor City died Wednesday, Aug. 28, in an automobile accident. He was 79.
Born Dec. 2, 1944, in Columbus County, he was the son of the late George Hubert Soles, Sr. and Mattie Norris Soles. He served his country in the United States Army.
Survivors include his wife, Dean Duncan Soles of Tabor City; a son, Christopher “Chris” George Soles (Nicole) of Tabor City; one brother, Jimmy Wayne Soles of Clarendon; two sisters, Betty Johnson and Doris Johnson both of Loris; a grandson, Christopher Blake Soles (Caitlyn) of Tabor City; great-granddaughter Kenna Del Soles; and stepdaughter Diona Greseth of Minnesota.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Soles.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30, in Emmanuel Holiness Church. Burial followed in the Old Soles Cemetery.
