Azure Lee Nobles: Green Sea

1937 – 2024

     Azure Lee Nobles of Green Sea died Tuesday, Sept. 17, in McLeod Seacoast hospital, Little River. He was 8.

     Born Oct. 19, 1937 in Columbus County, he was the son of the late Ardle Nobles and Melissie Norris Nobles.

     He was a veteran of the United States Navy.

     He is survived by his wife Mildred Strickland Nobles; one son, Stephen “Steve” Lee Nobles and wife Glenda of Green Sea; a daughter, Gail Nobles Goss and husband Christopher of Charlotte; four brothers, Thurman Nobles of Lexington, Williard Nobles (Julia) and Tony Nobles (Cecil) of Tabor City, and Teeny Nobles of Mullins; two grandchildren, John Goss (Andrea) of Boiling Springs, South Carolina and Lenora Goss of Charlotte.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ardle Theston Nobles; and two sisters, Mildred Horne and Evelyn Parker.

     Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel, burial following in Gapway Cemetery.

     Visitation was planned for the hour preceding services in the chapel.
