Lillian Ward Cribb: Whiteville

1939 – 2024

     Lillian Ward Cribb of Whiteville died Monday, Sept. 23, in Lower Cape Fear LifeCare, Whiteville. She was 85.

     Born April 14, 1939 in Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late Simon T. and Mary E. Ward.

     She was a member of Cypress Creek Original Free Will Baptist Church.

     She is survived by her daughter in-law, Kay Cribb of Chadbourn; two grandchildren; one great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leamon Devon Cribb; two sons, Gary Jerome Cribb, and Timothy “Timmy” Cribb; three brothers, Simon T. Ward, Jr., Melvin Ward, and Corbet Ward; five sisters, Gertrude Hathway, Letha Hathway, Altie Singletary, Lizzie Mae Singletary, and Minnie Pearl Ward.

     Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, in Cypress Creek Original Free Will Baptist Church, entombment following in Columbus Memorial Park.

     Visitation was planned for the hour preceding services in the church.
