Timothy McPherson: Chadbourn

1965 – 2024

     Timothy “Tim” McPherson of the Beaverdam community in Chadbourn died Friday, Oct. 11, in Lower Cape Fear LifeCare in Whiteville. He was 59.

     Born May 20, 1965 in Columbus County, he was the son Elbert McPherson and Joyce Ola Mae Moss McPherson.

     In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife, Amaryllis S. McPherson of the home; two sisters, Nancy Strickland of Chadbourn and Brenda Grainger and husband Junior of Tabor City; a stepdaughter, Wendy Summerlin and husband Phillip of Topton; grandchildren Ashton Cook and husband John, Riley and Julian Pittman; three great grandchildren, Lucas Cook, Knox Cook and Avy Rae Cook; and several nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.

     In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one stepson, Jamie Pittman; and a brother, Elton McPherson.

     Funeral services were planned for 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel, burial following in McPherson Cemetery, Peacock Road, Chadbourn.

     Visitation was planned for the hour preceding services in the chapel.
