Rev. O’Lease Boyd : Loris
1947 – 2024
Rev. O’Lease Boyd of Loris left this world on a Sunday night, July 21, at home with a beautiful smile on his face. His family was at his bedside, his wife of 53 years Jackie, and his son Jonathon. He was 76.
The Spirit was so strong in the room that we believe that God himself came down and took O’Lease home to be with Him.
Born Dec. 2, 1947 in Horry County, he was the son of the late Olin Boyd, Jr. and Evelyna Chestnut Boyd. He was a minister and pastor at some churches, filled in at others.
He is survived by his wife Jacqueline Simmons Boyd; and a son, Jonathon Patrick Raven Boyd.
In 1975 when Bell Pontiac opened in Loris, W. C. Bell had asked him to be the shop foreman. He worked there for many years and then opened his own shop. He got the opportunity to work with Horry County on highway equipment until he got hurt and had to take early retirement.
He had an illness for quite some time. He told us that he was going to his Heavenly Home very soon. He didn’t want to leave us, but he knew God would take care of us and we would be fine.
Funeral services were private.
We want to thank everyone for their prayers and everything that was done on his behalf. Please continue to keep the family in your prayers.
Those who would like to send a condolence card to the family may send those to: Jackie S. Boyd P.O. Box 998 Loris, SC 29569.
