Mary Katherine Fowler Jernigan: Loris

1926 – 2024

     Mary Katherine Fowler Jernigan of Loris passed away on Thursday, Oct. 24, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach. She was 98.

     Mary was born Sept. 2, 1926 in Loris. Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church for 70 years and she spent her life loving and passionately caring for her family.

     Survivors include her sons, Glen C. Jernigan and Mitchell T. Jernigan, and wife, Dottie; granddaughter Melissa J. Garrison; great-granddaughter Hailey D. Garrison; and loving niece Teresa B. Smith.

     In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Lee Jernigan and other extended family.

     Memorial services were planned for 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

     Family requests that memorials be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 2610 Mt. Zion Road, Loris, SC 29569.
