Beatrice Louise Strickland Cox: Loris

1932 – 2024

     Beatrice Louise Strickland Cox of Loris passed away on Dec. 26, at McLeod Loris hospital. She was 92.

     Born June 16, 1932, in Loris, she was the daughter of the late Cecil Cary Strickland and the late Virginia Springs Strickland.

     Mrs. Cox farmed with her husband, worked as a seamstress with both Loris Manufacturing Plant and Tabor Products, and was a loving homemaker. In her personal life she enjoyed working in her garden, growing flowers, and was a longtime dedicated member of Glendale Baptist Church.

     Survivors include her two sons, Randal Cox (Beth), and Billy Ray Cox (Peggy Jean); four grandchildren, Dale Cox (Tammy), Neal Cox, (Sabrina), Jason Cox (Sherra), and Brandon Cox; six great-grandchildren, Brooke Cox, Alexis Cox, Tanner Cox, Lainey Cox, Levi Cox, Audrey Cox; and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family.

     In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cox was predeceased by her husband, William L. “Bill” Cox; a brother, Charles Wayne Strickland; and a sister, Verland Strickland Blackwell.

     Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, at Glendale Baptist Church with Pastor Terry Porter and Rev. Donnie Graham officiating.

     Family planned to receive friends during the 90 minutes preceding services at the church.
