Eulee “Lucy” Long Roark: Loris
1943 – 2024
Eulee “Lucy” Long Roark passed away on Friday, Dec. 27, 2024, at her home in Loris. She was 81.
Lucy was born on Oct. 18, 1943, in Loris, daughter of the late Marvin David Long and the late Eula Inez Hardee Long.
In addition to being a homemaker and a compassionate caregiver at a nursing home, she also worked as a skilled furniture designer. She enjoyed puzzles and was a great painter throughout the years. Lucy was a longtime member of Lawndale Baptist Church. While she enjoyed getting her hair and nails done, she absolutely put others before herself as family was everything to her. Known to be a kindhearted nurturer to her 12 siblings and loved ones, she adored her family, and her grandbabies and great-grandbabies were her world.
Survivors include her loving daughter, Gloria Graham and husband Clark of Georgetown; her son, Michael Rabon and wife Jessica of Longs; two grandchildren, Joni Boyd of Georgetown and Phillip Rabon of Loris; two great-grandchildren, Tyler Boyd and Bryson Nobles of Georgetown; one brother, Doug Long of Loris; her sisters, Carolyn L. Suta and husband Henry of Loris, Margaret Small Chestnut of Loris, and Sylvia Jones and husband, Thomas of Aynor; and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to her parents, Lucy was predeceased by her son, Phillip Johnson; six brothers, Wendell Long, Thurman Long, Herman Long, Donald Long, Charles Long, and M.D. Long; and two sisters, Dalma Lee Long and Betty L. Greene.
Family planned to receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30, 2024, in Hardwick Funeral Home in Loris.
Funeral services were planned for 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2024, at Lawndale Baptist Church with Pastor Kelly Johnson, Rev. Larry Johnson, and Rev. Lloyd Phipps officiating, committal services following at Hardee Cemetery in Loris.
