Brenda Norris McPherson: Chadbourn

1943 – 2025

     Brenda Norris McPherson the Beaverdam Community, Chadbourn, died Monday, Jan. 6, 2025 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 81.

     Born in Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late Macey Jack and Linnie Ruth Thompkins Norris.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Delane McPherson and one brother Earl Norris.

     She is survived by two sons, Joey Delane McPherson (Chris) of Chadbourn and Craig McPherson (Rose) of Chadbourn; one daughter Amy McPherson Fowler of Chadbourn; eight grandchildren, Sunni, Jessie (Zach) Justin (Karlie) Joshua (Jessica) Roy (Sarah) Macelan (Matt) Emma (Brad) Anna; eight great -grandchildren, Kynlee, Briar, Riggs, Madelyn (Little Mattie) Shelt, Mable, Colt, Ellie; and one sister, Peggy Mills (Henry) of Tabor City.

     Brenda was an agribusiness woman, as a lifelong farmer she loved farming and most of all she loved farming with her family. She was loving known as “short cake” from her days of playing with the devilettes wearing the #13.

     Graveside services were planned for 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, in the Frog Field Cemetery, Chadbourn, located on the family farm.

     Family planned a drop in visitation at the home on Wednesday and Thursday until service time.
