Lula Bell Grainger Russ: Tabor City
1948 – 2024
Lula Bell Grainger Russ of Tabor City, wife of the late Leon Lavon Russ, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 5. She was 76.
Mrs. Russ was born in Loris, a daughter of the late Ruffin and Addie Grainger. She was predeceased by a son, Timothy Barnhill, Sr.; a daughter, Cynthia Auvil; a grandson, Timothy Barnhill, Jr.; a granddaughter, Nichole Auvil; and several brothers and sisters.
Surviving are: two daughters, Jennifer Stanley (William) and Linda Norris, all of Tabor City; one son, David Barnhill of Whiteville; eighteen grandchildren, Terry Auvil, Jr., Courtney Barnhill, Harley Barnhill, Kelsey Ivey(Nick), Hayley Tedder, Addison Jacobs, Brooklynn Stanley, Hayden Auvil, Mandalyn Bellamy, Bailey Gaskins, Angel Russ, John Russ, Cyndrah Subotic, Ryleigh O’Shea, Alex Byrd, Britteny Barnhill, David Barnhill, Jr., and Kaylee Russ; several great and great great grandchildren; a sister, Priscilla Gable of Columbia; and three step-sons, Roy “Buddy” Russ of Tabor City, Jimmy Russ (Lisa) of Chadbourn, and John Russ of Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10, from Goldfinch Funeral Home, Loris Chapel with Buck Stanley officiating. Burial followed in Minos Meares Cemetery, Tabor City.
