J D Grainger, Jr.: Tabor City

1946 – 2025

     J D Grainger, Jr. of Tabor City died Saturday, Feb. 22, in his home. He was 78.

     Born in Columbus County, he was the son of the late J D Grainger and Vera Nealey Grainger.

     He is survived by his wife, Brenda McPherson Grainger of the home; one son, Jeff Grainger of Tabor City; a daughter, Amanda Martin and husband Jody of Galivants Ferry; two sisters, Shelvie O’Rourke and husband Kenny and Alice Radewicz and husband Tom, all of Wilmington; one granddaughter, Courtney Grainger of Tabor City; a niece, Karen Radewicz of Wilmington; and two nephews, Anthony and Adam Radewicz of Wilmington.

     Graveside services were planned for 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, in Myrtle Green Cemetery, Tabor City.

     Serving as pallbearers are Tony McPherson, Dean Nealy, AJ Hickman, Adam Radewicz, Anthony Radewicz, Michael Beasley.

     Family planned to greet friends following the service in the cemetery.
