Annie Bess Stevens Tyler: Loris

1919 – 2025

     Annie Bess Stevens Tyler of Loris passed away on Saturday, March 29, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 105.

     Born Sept. 21, 1919, in Loris, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Yopp Stevens and the late Rosetta Stevens.

     Mrs. Tyler traveled all over the world with her husband while he was in the military, worked and retired as a seamstress, and was a member of Cane Branch Baptist Church.

     Survivors include her loving sons, Eddie C. Tyler and Danny Tyler (Cathie); daughter-in-law Angela Tyler; nine grandchildren, Summer Tyler Morello, Heath Tyler (Holly), Savannah Rabon (Scottie), Michael Harrington (Stephanie), Melissa Johnson (Dustin), Madison Strickland (Tyler), Robbie Tyler, Ché Scott, and Olivia Souza; twelve great-grandchildren; and many loving great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

     In addition to her parents, Mrs. Tyler was predeceased by her husband, Austin Clifford Tyler; a son, Bobby Tyler; brothers Rev. Donnie Stevens and Bonnie Stevens; and five sisters, Gladys Norton, Emma Stevens, Azalee Tyler, Katie Stevens, and Rosine Gore.

     Funeral services were planned for 3 p.m. Friday, April 4, at Cane Branch Baptist Church with Heath Tyler officiating, committal services following at Cane Branch Cemetery.

     Family planned to receive friends during the hour preceding services in the church.
