Hazel Jeanette Garris Cook: Loris

1944 – 2025

     Hazel Jeanette Garris Cook of Loris passed away on Thursday, May 1, at McLeod Loris hospital. He was 80.

     Born Oct. 2, 1944, in Conway, she was the daughter of the late Rannie Marshall Garris, Jr. and the late Edith Pearl Haithcock Garris.

     Survivors include her loving sisters, Wendy Rider and Cindy Garris; a brother, Sherman Garris; and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

     In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cook was predeceased by her husband, Carl L. Cook; a son, Jason Bradley Cook; one daughter, Paula Denice Cook; sisters Dellerea G. Davis and Ernestine Hance; and brothers Roger Garris, and Rannie Garris, III.

     Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 5, at Hardwick. Memorial Chapel. Committal services were private.
