Peggy Vereen Suggs: Tabor City

1953 – 2025

     Peggy Vereen Suggs of Tabor City died Monday, May 12, in her home. She was 71.

     Born Nov. 19, 1953 in Horry County, she was the daughter of the late Donnie Vereen and Magaline Rabon Vereen.

     She is survived by two daughters, Ammie Fowler (Tracy) and Kellie Tompkins (Mickey) of Tabor City; a son, Fredrick “Freddie” Mayo (Barbara) of Tabor City; one brother, Leonard Gillard of Conway; eleven grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Kelly Vereen; and three sisters, Mary Ann Hardee, Frances Thompkins, and Grace Register.

     Funeral services were planned for 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel.

     Family planned to receive friends during the hour preceding services in the chapel.
