Earl Jones Jr.: Tabor City
1950 – 2025
Earl Jones Jr. “Wahoo” of Tabor City, NC, was born in Robeson County on July 22, 1950, to the late Loretta and Earl Jones.
He departed this life on May 13 in the Lower Cape Fear Hospice & Life Care Center Angel House, Whiteville, surrounded by his family and friends, completing his earthly journey of 74 years.
In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his ex-wife and mother of his children, Wanda Faye Jones; his fiancé of 30 years, Deborah Richardson Norris; three sisters, Clorse Hunt, Iula Hunt, and Linda Hunt, all of Fairmont.
He leaves to cherish his memory three children, Patches Jones McQueen (Bobby) of Tabor City, Timothy Earl Jones (Tennille) of Loris, Darrell Glenn Housand (Suanne) of Bladenboro; six grandchildren, Addison and Tressie McQueen, Emma Kate and Maggie Jones, Brandon (Adreionna) and Sara Housand; siblings Denise Lewis, Nancy Jacobs, Bud Jones (Sharon), Barney Jones (Pat), Stanley Jones (Kim); many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a lifelong best friend, Corbett Ward.
Funeral services were planned for 3 p.m. Sunday, May 18, in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel, burial following in Myrtle Green Cemetery, Tabor City.
Visitation was planned for the hour preceding services in the chapel, and at other times at the home of Patches McQueen, 502 Fair Bluff Road, Tabor City.
