William Paul Causey, Sr.: Loris

1937 – 2025

     William Paul Causey, Sr. of Loris passed away on Saturday, June 14, at his home following an illness. He was 88.

     Born May 18, 1937 in Loris, he was the son of the late Walter N. Causey and the late Lillian Tyler Causey.

     Mr. Causey served his country with courage, honor, and distinction in the United States Navy and then the Army National Guard, retiring with more than 20 years of dedicated and faithful service. Mr. Causey served during the Cuban Missile Crisis and earned the Army Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, the Overseas Service Ribbon, as well as numerous other accolades and medals during his time in the military.

     Mr. Causey was a member of Live Oak Baptist Church, and attended Faith Fellowship Holiness Church, but will be most remembered as a loving father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to all who were blessed to have known him.

     Survivors include his two sons, William Paul Causey, Jr. (Robin) and Bishop Johnny Causey (Kay); grandchildren Kristie Renee Causey, Jason Ryan Causey (Jewels), Jennifer Paschall (Kenneth), Kendra Milligan (David), and Kayla Brown (Dakota); eight loving great-grandchildren, Joshua McNair, Kayden Causey, Kamryn Milligan, Ryland Brewer, Renley Brewer, Kayson Milligan, Jaylah Perkins, and Avery Barrett; a brother, Donald R. Causey, Sr. (Elise); and one sister, Jauaneice Hagadorn.

     In addition to his parents, Mr. Causey was predeceased by his wife, Genevieve Lewis Causey; a son, Edward Dale Causey; brothers J. W. Causey, Franklin E. Causey, Sr., Garland Causey, Winston C. Causey, Sr., and Roy Causey; and a sister, Rusty C. Bruton.

     Funeral services with military honors, were planned for 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, at Hardwick Memorial Chapel with Pastor Ricky Bledsoe officiating. Private committal services were planned.

     Family planned to receive friends during the hour preceding services at Hardwick Funeral Home.
