Linwood “Charles” Spivey: Whiteville
1951 – 2025
Linwood “Charles” Spivey of Whiteville died Sunday, Aug. 10, in the Lower Cape Fear LifeCareCenter, Whiteville. He was 73.
Born in Horry County, he was the son of the late Grover Lee and Emma Jane Spivey.
He is survived by his wife, Kay Spivey of the home; one daughter, Melissa Kay Fowler of Whiteville; one son Charles Wesley Spivey and wife Melony of Whiteville; a sister, Janet Hardwick (Billy Wayne) of Galivants Ferry; two brothers, Ronnie Spivey (Connie) of Denver, North Carolina and Gene Spivey of Belmont; four grandchildren, Colyn, Mackenzie, Reid, Marley; and three great grandchildren Lucca, Liv, and Hunter.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Linda C. Smith of Kings Mountain; and an infant sister.
Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, in Mt. Siani Baptist Church with Aaron Jeffords and Rev. Pete Johnson officiating, burial following in the church cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Colyn Fowler, Mike Spivey, Darren Hardwick, Ryan Spivey, Greg Spivey, and Gerald Smith.
