Iris Ruth King Huggins: Loris

1930 – 2025

     Iris Ruth King Huggins of Loris passed away on Thursday, Aug. 21, at McLeod Loris hospital. She was 95.

     Born Aug. 17, 1930, in Loris, she was the daughter of the late Delton Thomas King and the late Maggie Carter King.

     Survivors include her loving children, Boyd Clayton Huggins, Jr., Teresa Ruth Huggins, Ira Daniel Huggins, and Alan King Huggins; a brother, Carroll Buck “C.B.” King; sisters Maxine King Johnson, Margaret King Lee, and Gloria King Reaves Hayes; one granddaughter; and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family.

     In addition to her parents, Mrs. Huggins was predeceased by her husband, Boyd Clayton Huggins, Sr.; and four siblings, J.D. King, Allene King Able, Thomas “Bert” King, and Andreanna King Holland.

     Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, at Green Sea Baptist Church with Pastor Charles Brust officiating. Committal services followed at Green Sea Cemetery.
