Donald F. Harrelson: Tabor City
1947 – 2025
Donald F. “Don” Harrelson of Tabor City went home to be with his Lord and savior on Friday, August 29, in Grand Strand Regional Medical Center. He was 77.
Born Oct. 15, 1947, in Columbus County, he was the son of the late Oree and Ora Fowler Harrelson and the grandson of Frank and Rhodie Fowler.
Don was a veteran of the US Air Force; he was also a Master Mason of the Tabor Lodge 563 and a Sudan Shriner.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Dinah Harrelson; two daughters, Lori Blythe (Paul) of Denver, and Kristie Sanders (Scott) of Tabor City; a son, David Harrelson (Jessica) of Little River; one brother, Jackie Fowler of Tabor City; two sisters, Carolyn Johnson of Tabor City and Judy Cartrette of Chadbourn; four grandchildren, Maliek (DJ) Jeter (Amber), Ryan Blythe, Faith Blythe and Arah Harrelson; and two great grandchildren, Carter Jeter and Kelly Jeter.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Fowler and Edna Turbeville; four brothers, Roger Fowler, Shelton Fowler, Odis Fowler and Tim Fowler.
Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, in New Life Baptist Church, Tabor City, burial following in Myrtle Green Cemetery, Tabor City.
Visitation was planned for the hour preceding services in the church.
