Ella Jane Phipps Cox: Clarendon

1947 – 2025

     Ella Jane Phipps Cox of Clarendon passed away Monday, Sept. 15. She was 78.

     Born Jan. 14, 1947 in Brunswick County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Grover Phipps and Gracie Jane Sarvis Phipps.

     She is survived by one daughter, Wendy Cox Fowler of Clarendon; a son, Joe Leon Cox of Chadbourn; a sister, Betty Phipps Haskett of Morehead City; and four grandchildren.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Deloach Cox; and two brothers, Robert Glenn Phipps and Don Carlton Phipps.

     Funeral services were planned for 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, in Old Zion Wesleyan Church, burial following in the Old Zion Cemetery.

     Family planned to receive friends during the hour preceding services in the church.
