Wallace Ray Horne: Nakina

1958 – 2025

     Wallace Ray Horne of Nakina passed away on Monday, Sept. 15, in his home. He was 67.

     Born Feb. 10, 1958 in Cumberland County, he was the son of the late Buford Horne and Willie Mae Britt Horne.

     He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Ann Hood Horne; one son, Corey Horne of Nakina; a daughter, Tiffany Gore of Nakina; two sisters, Claudette Walker of Birmingham, Alabama and Phyllis Watson of Supply; three brothers, Kenneth Horne of Garner, Robert Horne of Willow Spring, and Jim Ours of Winston Salem; two grandchildren; and many in-laws, nieces and nephews.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two grandsons.

     A Celebration of Life service was planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, in Palmyra Missionary Baptist Church, 12753 New Britton Hwy, Whiteville.

     Family planned to receive friends during the hour preceding services in the church.
