Carolyn Hodges Hilburn: Tabor City

1947 – 2025

     Carolyn Hodges Hilburn of Tabor City passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 23, in her home. She was 78.

     Born Aug. 27, 1947 in Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Wade Hodges and Cordelia Fowler Hodges.

     She was a faithful long-time member of Forest Lawn Baptist Church. She was actively involved in Celebrate Recovery, the Baptismal Committee and impacted many lives with her love and welcoming spirit.

     She is survived by her husband, Mack Arthur Hilburn of the home; two sons, Raymond Arthur Hilburn (Debbie) of Tabor City and Michael Derek Hilburn (Dawn) of Fair Bluff; one daughter, Wendy Hilburn Maguire (John) of Clarendon; a sister, Ila Pearl Lilly of Green Sea; six grandchildren, Jessica Jernigan, Travis Hilburn, Jordan Long, Jake Maguire, Chance Courtney, and Madison Simms; and two great grandchildren, Aven Jernigan, and Holden Jernigan.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Dale Hodges.

     Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, in Forest Lawn Baptist Church

     Funeral Services were planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, in Forest Lawn Baptist Church, burial following in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
