Daniel McLeod Sanders: Tabor City

1941 – 2025

     Daniel “Dan” McLeod Sanders of Tabor City passed away peacefully Wednesday, Nov. 19, in his home surrounded by his family. He was 84.

     Dan was born Sept. 4, 1941 in Wilmington to Ernest Coleman and Annie Maude McLeod Sanders. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ernest Coleman “Sonny” Sanders.

     He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

     He is survived by his wife Annette Sharrett Sanders of the home; three sons, Lance Sanders and wife Carole, Patrick Sanders and wife Shawn, Charlie Sanders and wife Maggie; sister-in-law Anne Elizabeth Mallard Sanders (Sonny); a brother, Roderick “Rod” Sanders and wife Donna; five grandchildren, Lindsay Banda (Dhiraj), Daniel Sanders (Krissy), Nathan Sanders, Amelia Sanders, Alexis Roberts; and great-grandchildren Colter and Carson.

     A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
