David Anthony Shelley: Green Sea

1951 – 2025

     David Anthony Shelley, better known as “Tony,” of Green Sea, died Friday, Nov. 28, in his home. He was 74.

     Born in Marion County, he was the son of the late Shelton Dothan Shelley and Betty June Bolton Shelley.

     In addition to his parent’s, he was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Buffkin Shelley.

     He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

     Left to cherish his memory are one daughter, Hope Shelley Sarvis of Loris; a son, Ryan Shelley of Myrtle Beach; two brothers, Thelton Shelley of Green Sea and Perry Shelley of Myrtle Beach; two sisters, Robin Haithock of Mt. Gilead and Joye Horne of Columbia; four grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

     Memorial services were planned for 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, in Green Sea Baptist Church with burial at a later date.

     Family planned to receive friends during the hour preceding services in the church.

     In lieu of flowers the family ask for memorials to be given in Tony’s honor to the Green Sea Baptist Church Youth, 1241 Green Sea Rd. Green Sea, SC 29545
