Nina Leona Smith Gore: Loris

1930 – 2026

     Nina Leona Smith Gore of Loris passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 21, at McLeod Loris hospital. She was 95.

     Born Feb. 22, 1930, in Longs, she was the daughter of the late Jessie Martin Smith and the late Cora Jane Barnhill Smith.

     Survivors include sons-in-law, Mike Freeman and Ronald Hardee, and other extended family.

     In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gore was predeceased by her son, Larry Solon Gore; daughters Linda G. Freeman, Faye Sundby, and Becky Hardee; a granddaughter; and her eleven brothers and sisters.

     Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23, at Hardwick Memorial Chapel with Rev. Donnie Graham officiating. Committal services were private.

     Family requests that memorials be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 2558 West Bear Grass Road, Loris, SC 29569.
