Roger Dale Hilburn: Loris

1946 – 2026

     Roger Dale Hilburn of Loris passed away on Saturday, Sept. 19, at his home following an illness. He was 79.

     Born Oct. 27, 1946, he was the son of the late Sylvester “Vester” Hilburn and the late Elise “Granny” Cox Hilburn.

     Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Kathy Underwood Hilburn; two children, Tamara Hilburn Coburn and Kris Hilburn; a brother, Jerry Hilburn; three sisters, Esther Hilburn Dew, Linda Ely, and Brenda King (Hoyt); two grandchildren; and many other nieces, nephews, and extended family.

     Funeral services were planned for 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, at Hardwick Memorial Chapel with Pastor John Beattie and Rev. Hoyt King officiating, committal services following at Princeville Cemetery.

     Family planned to receive friends from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m., prior to services, at the funeral home.
