Vernon Allen: Tabor City

1938 – 2023

     Vernon Allen of Tabor City died Sunday, Aug. 27, in his home. He was 85.

     Born Feb. 4, 1938 in Columbus County, he was the son of the late A.J. Allen and Emma Long Allen.

     He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Boswell Allen of the home; one daughter, Heather Dawn Faulk (Travis) of Nakina; a son, Russell Allen (Melinda) of Loris; six grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Verna Dean Quest; two brothers, Kenneth Allen and Curtis Allen; and three sisters, Kathalene Todd, Peggy Stephens, and Loraine Allen.

     Visitation was planned from 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Aug. 29, in Inman Ward Funeral Home.

     Graveside services were planned for 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 29, in Spivey Cemetery, Will Inman Road, Tabor City.
