Dallie Ray Canady: Tabor City
1938 – 2023
Dallie Ray Canady of Tabor City passed away Tuesday, Aug. 29, in McLeod Seacoast hospital, Little River. He was 85.
He was born Feb. 14, 1938 to Major Donnie Canady and Mary Jane Long Canady. He was a Master Mason and a member of Tabor Lodge 563.
Ray is survived by his wife of 60 years, Phyllis; children Wendy Duncan (Greg) of Tabor City, Selena Gore (Evan) of Whiteville, Dallie Canady (Meghan) of Tabor City; eight grandchildren, Andrew (Jenny) Meredith (Fielding), Tanner, Mackenzie, Lexie, Jentri, Graydi, Annalis; three great-grandchildren, Oscar, Isabella, Raylee; and two sisters, Lula Mae Causey (Lonnie) of Shallotte and Linda Gray (Carl) of Whiteville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kayla Nicole Duncan; two brothers, Hubert Canady and Major Canady; and three sisters, Bernice Lovette, Evelyn Buck, and Betty Williamson.
Visitation was planed from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services were planned for 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 3, in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel, burial following in Canady Family Cemetery, 15291 Swamp Fox Hwy East, Tabor City.
Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons, Andrew Duncan, Tanner Duncan, Mackenzie Gore, nephews, Rusty Williamson, Donnie Canady, and Patrick Lovette. Honorary pallbearers are grandsons Oscar Pineda, Jentri Canady and Grady Canady.
