Reba LaFaye Williamson: Tabor City

1930 – 2023

     Reba LaFaye Williamson of Tabor City died Thursday, Nov. 2, in Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care Center Angel House, Whiteville. She was 93.

     Born in Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late Herbert McCumbee and Hettie Sophia Fowler McCumbee.

     She is survived by two daughters, Deborah Hathaway of Tabor City Lois Nichols of Jackson, Tennessee, one brother, Don McCumbee of Tabor City; a sister, Virgie Nealy of Norfolk, Virginia; ten grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; and five special family members.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Grover Williamson; one son, Ronnie Edward Williamson Sr.; a daughter, Ann Fowler; one infant son, Grover Cleveland Williamson; a brother, John Henry McCumbee; and two sisters, Marie Lovette and Monte Gail McCumbee.

     Graveside services were planned for 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, in Myrtle Green Cemetery, Tabor City.

     Family planned to receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
